Measuring your head size

Find a measuring tool Use a soft tape, rope or even your charging cable. Place it against a ruler to measure.

Measure your head Wrap it around your head, position it mid-forehead and above the eyebrows and ears.

Find your helmet size Identify if it’s a good fit. Lumos Ultra fits most head shapes with the adjustable dial fit system.

Lumos Ultra, Lumos Safety

What do I think of Lumos Ultra? Well this is a replacement for a previous Ultra purchase. The replacement necessary as the original was damaged during a crash. The upshot is, no head injury.
Now the extra bit, the Ultra also has lights which synch to my Lumos Ultra Fly lights which highlights my presence to other road users. They also act as indicators, activated by the remote, which sits on the bikes handlebars. Again very useful.
Any downside, well, the indicator button supplied is not compatible with the Ultra Fly lights. Something I did not expect and for the price of the helmet, disappointing.
Would I recommend the Lumos Ultra Helmet?
The fact I replaced like for like would suggest yes.

Excellent helmet

I’ve had a kickstarter Lumos helmet for several years but needed a replacement after a crash - this Ultra is a great replacement, and I like the USB-c charger which makes it easier to find a charger. The turn signalling works well for the rear (and the coin battery remote is easier to maintain than the rechargeable one) but lacks the front signalling of the kickstarter so looses a star for that, but I find it more comfortable than the kickstarter - will be interested to see how the front light performs as the evenings get darker.

Comfortable, easy to use

Helmet is a perfect fit, very comfortable to wear and easy to operate. I would like something a little more secure or permanent to fix the controls to the handlebars as there is a concern it could come loose. But otherwise a very good helmet.

The best

Totally love this helmet.

Compared to my last Lumos helmet what I love most are a) the design, b) the USB-C charging port and c) the new remote. All net positive developments. Well done indeed.

Saved my life

Only buying a new Lumos Ultra due to the previous one being written off in a car accident. I highly recommend these helmets as the previous one saved my life, I was taken out by a car not stopping on a roundabout. I was hit side on with the car going approximately 30mph and my head taking a direct hit to the windscreen. Luckily the helmet did it job and saved my life, despite being in pieces it still works!!

Otherwise the helmet is great quality, the extra weight is not noticeable and overall I highly recommend!!
