I bought 2 minis as turn signals to see how I like the system on my recumbent trike. It works great, and I'm ordering 4 Fireflies so my turn signals can be visible from every side.

Adjustment and fit are fantastic. One of the biggest design wins is having the lights permanently built into the helmet—it is a huge relief not having to worry about packing, charging, or mounting separate lights every time I head out.

Do I feel seen? It is honestly hard to judge from the rider's perspective, but the normal high-level mode seems adequate for everyday visibility. On the other hand, the boost power combined with blink modes are impressively bright—almost too bright for dim conditions, though great when you really need to stand out. (Note: I haven't used the remote or the turn signals.)
The Little Things: Areas for Improvement
While the core experience is great, there are a few minor design details I would change that removed the one star from the review:
The Buckle: The original buckle is stiff to open and feels cheap. I ended up replacing mine because I've simply gotten used to a smoother, different style of buckle.
The Power Button: After two weeks of daily use, I still struggle to find it. Located behind the head, there are little to no tactile cues to help your fingers locate it—you basically just grope around and press until you feel a button give way.
Battery Status: I haven't figured out any way to check the charge level other than opening the mobile app. It would be a quality-of-life improvement to add a configuration setting—for instance, having the helmet emit a specific number of audio beeps corresponding to the battery percentage when powering down.

I love my helmet. Only thing i'd like to see is for the turn signal switches on my Velotric to be compatible. i don't like having two sets of buttons.

Mips & 8776 were requirements for us and this checked both boxes. We've ordered a set of Sonorus to add comms but sadly they won't arrive until after cycling season in New England. Disappointing

The helmet is a replacement for the exact same model which protected me in an accident. The helmet got crashed, my head suffered not even the tiniest scratch, no concussion, nothing. I am super grateful and reordered immediately. The helmet does not only offer (now proven) crash protection, it also makes you visible - accident prevention. And it is super comfy. 10 stars!

Great light but one is impossible to be used because the support broke and I can’t buy a replacement part on the website, it’s unavailable

Works as intended! I was fumbled if I wanted the helmet that offered the function to talk with the helmet, but I chose for maximum visibility in the dark. I really like how it offers turn signals too. Great design. 10/10: would recommend (if you have the funds).

Any helmet that isn’t comfortable won’t be worn.

I very much enjoy the lighter weight of the helmet. The lighting is superior at night. Would be 5 stars but it scratches so darn easily - it fell less than a foot from my coffee table and has a scuff on it.

I love my helmet, however I wish it had front turn signals to indicate what I intend to do when facing oncoming traffic.

All over all the firefly match my expectations. Using them as brake lights doesn't work reliably, though. Bumps in the road (which are unfortunately quite common in my city) trigger the lights quite often, but actual breaking rarely does.
But the ability to use them as turn signals is really good and I use this feature very often.
Overall quality is good.
The time needed to press the button to turn the firefly off could be a little bit shorter. That both lights turn off simultaneously is a very nice feature, though. At least I only need to press one button.

I have this helmet and the lights on it make me feel safer recommend to any cyclist. Well done guys

Higher quality light that’s worth the money. I’ve gotten the cheap ones and went back to Lumos for my second light. Only complaint is its very hard to remove the light from the universal adapter mount once its snapped in, but you pretty much only do this once. I wish it didn't require so many various adapters.

The price kept me away from this helmet but eventually got it this year and have not looked back. It’s stylish and aerodynamic while it’s also uniquely visible on road. I rode this season out with my Lumos eagerly waiting for the next one

The lights seem brighter and the pattern more “obtrusive”, which is a good thing. However, the loss of the front turn signal is a MAJOR issue. I do a great deal of suburban riding. When I come up to a turn I now have to go back to hand signals if a car is approaching.

Feel very visible in the helmet - lights and the color. Brim attachment is useless; I added a ‘Da Brim’ to resolve that issue.

I love the lights and the fit on this helmet. It's nice to have the ponytail capacity. I haven't had any heavy rain yet, which is what killed my last one (Kickstarter version). The mips still slip out of the slide, but I've discovered that if I fully loosen the twist adjustment before putting the helmet on, it reduces the problem.

This helmet will be amazing when they work out these couple of issues.

Helmet fits strangely - not sure its safe. Size is appropriate. Never heard back from customer service.

Happy with my helmets (one white, one neon yellow) in all respects. Wish I could buy another in neon orange.

I am hard to miss when riding. Even though I only ride during daylight hours between my helmet lights, my 4 firefly lights, directional signals and brake lights I am very visible which is what I want.

I have had trouble charging. I sometimes have to remove the lights and change slots to get them to charge. It does eventually work. My biggest problem is keeping the lights and helmet synched.

The remote works well but it should come with the device rather than be a separate purchase.

I ride with the Lumos helmet and 2 fireflies on the seat post attachment. All work well and add to my visibility on the road

If you get the available liner this is a good candidate for year round, winter riding. The lights are good.

Lumos absolutely hit it out of the park with these lights. They're compact, rechargeable, offer multiple lighting patterns, synchronize seamlessly, and, most importantly, keep you highly visible. Reliable, easy to use, and incredibly effective. I couldn't be happier with them.
